“When I was a teenager I moved around a lot of different schools. I began to find it hard to make friends because the process became exhausting. Instead, at lunchtimes I would go and sit in the music room and write songs. It became my outlet for feeling sad or lonely. I don’t know how I got through that time without being able to do that. As soon as I started song writing I couldn’t stop. It became a bit of an obsession. I remember coming home from school and writing a song almost every night. It helped me so much to say things that were on my mind. It still does.
I’m a singer songwriter. A couple of years ago a small independent record label approached me, wanting to release an album. It’s been an amazing process. The album is a collection of songs I’ve written over the past few years. I was able to develop the arrangements of my songs with a producer. It was wonderful hearing my music come to life like that. It’s all finished now, and being release next month. I can’t really believe it is happening!”
