This March I’m advocating for every #1in10 . #endometriosis affects 10% of all women and it’s about time we start a conversation. It is more than a painful period. It is debilitating pain that impacts lives in every possible way. Some are left jobless from having to miss work or school, without their inner circle, and an alarming number are unable to bear children. Some women like myself find walking from one room to another to be exhausting, food to be a painful enemy and pain to be persistent 100% of the time. Endo not only affects those with the disease, but also loved ones, who often bear the weight of the unrelenting physical and emotional pain and struggle. I really love what I’ve seen on social media and within advocacy groups gearing up for Endometriosis Awareness month. I’m also, apparently, the poster lady for the importance of spray tanning. 100% of all Me(‘)s are in desperate need. Loaded baked potato. OKAY😍 carbs, fats and loads of protein☑️. Threw in a potato in the microwave for 8 minutes, topped with leftover tempeh chili from @lettucelovecafe, piled high with my homemade tofu sour cream and guacamole. We did some very impulsive harvesting today! The tide was just low enough on our walk to harvest some delicious sea lettuce so we grabbed a few handfuls! Once they went through a few fresh water rinses, I set them out to dry flat above our wood stove. In just a little over an hour, they were dry and ready to eat. I’ll admit that raw seaweed is NOT my thing... so, I grabbed the mortar and pestle and whipped up some sesame seed and sea salt seasoning. 🤤 These lovely green sea plants are packed full of iron, vitamins, and protein! Back from Family Day weekend. Snapped a quick pic of our food stash before we left. We stayed in a hotel room with no kitchen, but this fed us for the first day and kept the mini-fridge stocked with snacks. Could have done with more oranges and trail mix. (Plus gratuitous ski pics if you swipe. Was mostly fun but there was also crying and throwing up and ski patrol and now crutches.
