Made greek yoghurt bagels this morning, and had two of them for breakfast, yes, TWO! They’re so easy to make and honestly so good! I used my airfryer, but you might as well bake them in the oven, I’ve tried that before and they come out just as good! These are plain ones, but you can add sesame seeds, mix blueberries in the dough, make cinnamon and raisin bagels... whatever you feel like!
⏺ 1 cup selfrising flour (I’ve also used spelt flour before and it’s just as good to work with, just make sure to add baking powder) which comes down to 110g. You’ll use about 5g extra to roll out the dough
⏺ 170g nonfat plain greek yoghurt (I used Yogood),you can use full-fat, low-fat, anything works!
⏺ 20g eggwhite or 1 eggwhite to ‘glaze’ the bagels before they go in the oven or fryer
I added some salt and cinnamon and started mixing the dough with a fork until it got crumbly. You then kneed it with your hands and roll it out on the flour. Cut it into 4 equal pieces, make long sausages of the pieces of dough, and turn them into a bagel shape.
In the meantime, your airfryer or oven should be preheated (180c). I left them in the airfryer for 10-12 mins, checking every couple of minutes, oven is about the same. And voilà!
