Curious about the origins and purpose of MOVIE MOUNTAIN? We put together this little video to help answer that. Thanks for all of the support and feedback back on #poolscum. We've been blown away! For the next few months we are shooting a stop motion collaboration with @krotchy and then some special effects sequences for @cyrus_sutton's next short film. MORE SOON
EPISODES 1-3 of POOL SCUM are now live on our Patreon page! Follow the link in our profile to watch it. It took 7 months to make, here's a video of how we did it. Thanks for all of the support and let us know what you think 🙏🏻🙏🏻 #poolscum
We just launched our @patreon page for Movie Mountain. This will be the first way to see #poolscum and the best way to get merchandise that we make. This time around we made some t-shirts and socks, but as projects develop, there will be more swag that's only available to our supporters. Parts of the set as well as the puppets we used for shooting will be up for grabs as well. Two years ago we had the idea to build an independent special effects and stop motion studio that makes stuff that we feel likes being under represented by Hollywood and CO. We want to make stuff that goes directly to the people that watch it and take out the middlemen that dumb stuff down. We think Patreon is a great way to make stuff independent of advertising and focus groups. Check out our page here and https://www.patreon.com/moviemountain and thank you for the support!
FIRE NEAR THE MOUNTAIN. It's been a crazy last 48 hours with a forest fire raging in the Columbia River Gorge. Flames were visible from the tree houses on the Oregon side and the fire jumped a mile over the Columbia River to a mountain that the MM crew often hikes on some 4 miles from the studio. Yesterday morning we almost packed up hard drives and camera equipment. Thankfully the wind has died off and the fires growth has slowed. Thanks for the texts and messages. 💔🌲🔥
One shot from #POOLSCUM coming together. This shot is 50 frames, a little over 2 seconds and is composed of 4 passes; an animation pass, a green screen pass, a lens flair pass, and a clean plate. (The camera motion is mapped out on our motion control machine, a giant computer controlled robot arm, that repeats the same motion perfectly) These 4 takes are then comped together on #aftereffects and this is the final result. #stopmotion
