This last trip has been a nice change ordering more “grounding” root veggies and grains instead of always super green salads and juices. I was so happy I ended up ordering a beet juice too instead of green juice because it made such a difference on a cold day having something more rounded and warming (red vs green). I would be so shamed in china for having too much green cold things haha. But back to this goddess bowl! Absolute love! Legendary sauce and warm lightly steamed veggies and grains, very substantial and nourishing!
I was shopping for prezzies in the market when I came across a churro stall assuring vegans they could have them, how on earth was I going to say no? Couldn't have the chocolate dipping sauce, but the cinammom sugar was delish. Had to forgo dinner to make up for it! 🙈🙈
Is there any more versatile of a vegetable than cauliflower? This cruciferous vegetable is rich in phytonutrients that seemingly have anti-cancer properties. Plus, its rather bland taste makes it a lower carb substitute for other foods, particularly rice.
No longer do I use rice as a base for most dishes. Instead, I opt for cauliflower rice. Another favorite dish that uses cauliflower is "cauliflower and cheese" as a substitute for macaroni and cheese. I use almond cheese as opposed to dairy cheese.
When you crave pizza and don't mind making your own, cauliflower pizza crust is a healthier substitute for the high-carb, nutrient-poor crust that most pizzas are made with.
Lots of reasons to love cauliflower! What are your favorite ways to use it?
🦃 yesterday was my first thanksgiving away from my family and i want to thank @sweetsimplevegan & @consciouschris for welcoming me into their home this year. not only was their company awesome, but so was the food! a cuban sandwich from the veganomicon recipe, two different roasts, a stuffing stuffed potato ball, a perfect pull apart roll, and the list goes on! i ate everything on this plate and then some 😋 thanksgiving side note: while this time of year is usually great for non native humans in the us, it’s not that great for native americans or turkeys. i commit to better supporting native folks, as well as working harder to end animal agriculture. (other side note: idk why this photo is so blue 🤷🏼♂️)
