Day 4 of the blacksmith master class at @eveleighworks was the culmination of the previous 3days of tool making to make a rounding hammer. First we punched an eye in a length of 4140 steel. We forged out the cheeks of the hammer and then isolated mass for the dies of the hammer by isolating with top and bottom fullers. We rounded one face with the cupping tool and kept the other side flat. Then a final drift before normalising and annealing the steel. I monogrammed mine here while the steel was at its softest, We then ground the faces to their final shape and began heat treating and tempering.
Another great day at our new store in Westfield North Lakes. Don't forget this is our Grand Opening Week, come in for a tour or treat yourself to a salon experience & grab a bargain with some never seen before sales!
