Day 24 C8 - Rest day. Had a busy day with lots of activity (cardio dog walk and loads of steps) so resting from the gym. Got my high carb day tomorrow which should go with a rest but it’s date night tomorrow night so didn’t want to waste my carbs today.
Breakfast was leftover muffins. Lunch was tuna salad. Tea was chicken and broccoli (rubbish day for photos, sorry). Snack of yoghurt and cheese strings and nuts.
Feeling so sleepy - definitely needed this rest.

Not a lot of people understand that while the keto diet is pitched today as a magic bullet to fat loss, and having a metabolic advantage it was originally used a corrective diet for a very specific population of people.

Ketogenic diets were and still are used to help those who have drug resistant epilepsy to reduce seizures.

The ketogenic diet has helped some individuals reduce the amount of seizures they had from as many as ten per hour down to one per hour… that’s undeniably life changing.

The unfortunate part is that because the diet is so restrictive regardless of the benefits for those who use it therapeutically they still struggle to adhere to it..

ended a 19.5 hour fast with this beauty from @festalcafe totally started digging in before I took a picture... zucchini noodle creamy alfredo with free-range chicken breast and cassava focaaccia bread (I only had a nibble to see what it's like, didn't eat it). was well worth the wait.

my experience here was 10x better than my last. the man on till was very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful (shout out to you, bearded dude. sorry that I don't know your name!) and the barista seemed a lot friendlier this time. I wasn't going to give it a second chance based on my previous experience (I didn't get a very friendly vibe from the people) but the food is so good I decided I would and I was very content. especially since this time they weren't out of the cinn-bun collagen balls I really wanted to try. will definitely be back for sure this time!

@elizabethkardasz has helped me change so many things in my life in the most substainable way I've ever seen. She guided me on getting my eating habits on track in a flexible non-restrictive manner. She helps me make changes when I'm not seeing progress while also reminding me when I'm too impatient that it takes time. Offers support in the most non-judgemental way possible. Basically she's my life coach. It's not just about eating right or exercising right with her. She cares how I'm mentally doing. In the beginning when I first went to her I had alot of anxiety. My caloric intake was really low, exercise was non-existent. She had me slow down and make small changes at a time. Fast forward to now- I'm happy and healthy. Yes, there are days where anxiety sucks or I want to eat my feelings in the form of corn dogs , chocolate frosting and candy sprees. I remind myself how good my body feels when I nourish it and plan out a corn dog or whatever comfort food I'm feeling but don't let it demolish my whole day where my stomach ends up hating me. @elizabethkardasz has taught me moderation. She has taught me perfectionism isn't substainable. To overcome anaylsis paralysis by talking out with her what my first steps are. Before Thanksgiving we talked about what my game plan was for Thanksgiving. She advised me to hit my protein and enjoy all that I'm thankful for. To place memories over macros. Then Friday(today) to kill my workout with all the food I consumed yesterday. Months ago something like this would have probably set me back weeks or months. In my "rational" non-rational thinking I would have thought that gorging on Thanksgiving would have ruined all my hard gym sessions and diet. Today? I'm back on the macro train and my body feels good. I had eggs and bacon for breakfast. Turkey, chips and salsa for lunch. I'm not deprived nor hungry under E's guidance. Shoot her a message, you won't regret it 😘
