P l a y a w a y s: Anybody else find playways useful? They are stories preloaded on digital audio players that I check out from my local library. I search "playaway" or "digital audio player" to find them. (You provide your own headphones.) W likes them as on option when we are out or at home he'll listen while rocking in a rocking chair, lying on a massage mat, etc. I have found its best to check out the newest ones because they work the best (older well used playaways can be glitchy) and carry an extra AAA battery for backup.
I can't believe it's been almost two weeks since my last post! Despite my absence here, however, I have continued to take photos of my meals and books and have been posting mentally in my head all along. Perhaps some of you can relate. I really have no good excuses, other than the typical business of life. As it's #nanowrimo this month I have made a personal goal to try and finish the re-write of my novel by the end of the month, so I've not dared get sucked into Instagram in the early mornings when I used to take the time to catch up on posts. I have instead been struggling with rhymes and stanzas in the hopes of meeting my goal. At any rate, I have also continued my reading, and other goals. I started listening to "The Goose Girl" by Shannon Hale on the 4th and finished it on the 6th. It was quite a bit more intriguing than I had expected. Shannon Hale excels at making you care about her characters as she constantly tortures them. I did housework while listening to most of it, yet, there came many points where I was so absorbed I'd just sit down and listen. I cried multiple times while listening to this story as well. I seriously had no idea how she was going to resolve the problems that came up until they were resolved. I usually can predict the ending of these kinds of books, but I really only foresaw one tiny portion of the plot. It was pretty much genius. I really loved it. #yafantasy#yafiction#playaway#thegoosegirl#shannonhale#audiobookstagram#bookstagram#audiobook#ya#fairytaleretelling
