We felt honoured to leave a total of 125 Harry Potter books at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London earlier today. After giving 75 books with the nurses to distribute on the wards, we ventured into the main reception of the children's hospital. Thank you so much to the staff there, who happily let us hide the remaining 50 wrapped up gifts around the waiting area and under the shelter at the entrance. The books were being found and opened quicker than we could hide them! 💚
We want to thank not only the anonymous giver today but all of those amazing people who selflessly give. The idea to anonymously donate such a great gift to children at Christmas is such a genuine and heartfelt one. We are so thrilled to have been able to join in the magic and sprinkle some fairy dust. Thank you. We will finish by telling you about the book we left. 🎅
About the book: "Turning the envelope over, his hand trembling, Harry saw a purple wax seal bearing a coat of arms; a lion, an eagle, a badger and a snake surrounding a large letter 'H'." ✉
Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry's eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. An incredible adventure is about to begin!
