I think this might be the prettiest book I own because it's so small and pink. I adore it really. I haven't read it yet but I enjoyed Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugindes so much that I have high hopes for this one also! I'll put the synopsis below! 😀
The haunting, humorous and tender story of the brief lives of the five entrancing Lisbon sisters, The Virgin Suicides, now a major film, is Jeffrey Eugenides's classic debut novel.
The shocking thing about the girls was how nearly normal they seemed when their mother let them out for the one and only date of their lives. Twenty years on, their enigmatic personalities are embalmed in the memories of the boys who worshipped them and who now recall their shared adolescence: the brassiere draped over a crucifix belonging to the promiscuous Lux; the sisters' breathtaking appearance on the night of the dance; and the sultry, sleepy street across which they watched a family disintegrate and fragile lives disappear.

Inspired by true events, From Sand and Ash is nothing short of spectacular, beautiful, heart wrenching and soul-gutting. It is an amazing tale that is so much more than just a love story, and is so achingly beautiful that it broke my heart in all the right places. I had just finished reading The Queen and the Cure (another amazing work by Amy Harmon) and I was not quite ready to say goodbye to her ability to weave together spellbinding stories in her unique style, so I started searching for other novels of hers that I had not read. I stumbled on From Sands and Ash and instantly added it to my collection.
I am so incredibly excited to share this duo with you today!! We are HUGE @slumberkins fans (as in my daughter sleeps with her's every single night and I am a tad jealous they weren't around when I was tiny 😉) and to add to the fun they have just launched two books that pair up with their Sloth and Bigfoot Slumberkins! So exciting right?! They are board books that match their respective Slumberkins and their theme. They have watercolor illustrations and are every bit as dreamy as they are practical. (My daughter is going to love them!). To learn more head over to my Insta Stories!

》 The time has come again in which I re-read the sacred text! I love my HP marathons whether it be of book or film and I am starting it off by reading book 1 in illustrated form.
》 I haven't had the time to look through the illustrated versions properly, so books 1-3 should be fun!

I haven’t read this one yet, but I loved the television show! Did anyone else watch Hannibal?
I was tagged by @bookish.silf to do the #thisorthat tag. Here goes!
📖 Thriller or Crime Fiction: Thrillers! One of my favorite genres.
📖 Sweet or Salty Snacks: I definitely prefer sweet.
📖 Cats or Dogs: I am a cat person through and through.
📖 Books or Movies: Books! Definitely books .
📖 Stand Alone or Series: There are so many series that I love, but I much rather read a Stand Alone. I hate waiting for the next book to come out 😒 If the entire series is out, then I prefer a series though!
📖 Sleeping or Eating: Sleeping. I love sleeping. 💤 - // #bookstagram#bookishfeatures#bookstafeatures#bookstagramfeatures#bookish#hannibal#hanniballector#thereddragon
I won’t be doing my October @owlcrate unboxing yet. Not until I am dead sure that everyone got their boxes, because I’d hate to spoil anyone! But what I can say is, that the October box was EPIC and I nearly cried with joy because of the items 😭❤️ The book sounds really amazing and I am so looking forward to read it. It’s been blurbed by some popular authors, so that’s always a good sign 🙌✨ Also, if you use my code AVIREADS you’ll save 15% off on your @owlcrate & @owlcratejr subscription and gift order ✨
🗡 📘 October 23 - SCIENCE⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #becomingnoahshaw ⠀⠀⠀
Okay, I've realized that I need a bigger scope in reading. Or maybe I'm just forgetting all the books that could apply to this prompt. The only thing I could think of was THE MADMAN'S DAUGHTER. It was one of the earlier science-y books I'd ever read and I think it came out around the same time that Mara Dyer was pubbing. ⠀
This trilogy definitely has that FRANKENSTEIN vibe. Have any of you guys read it? ⠀
Are you guys participating in the #BecomingNoahShaw challenge? It's running from 10/7-11/5 and at the end, you could win a finished copy of THE BECOMING OF NOAH SHAW! See the link in my profile for how to join me and @bibliocurator.⠀⠀
All the numbers add up to one killer... herself. ✨✨✨✨✨✨
This was a pretty interesting read! Nearly Boswell is almost done highschool- and if she can win the scholarship she's been working towards, she'll be done with her stripper mother and the trailer park she's stuck in, too. But then her tutoring students start dying, each with a number written on their bodies. Cryptic messages appear in the newspaper Nearly checks every day, and all the clues are pointing to her being the killer. Can she figure out the messages before it's too late?
"you call me to tell me you miss me
i turn to face the front door of the house
waiting for a knock
days later you call to say you need me
but still aren't here
the dandelions on the lawn
are rolling their eyes in disappointment
the grass has declared you yesterday's news
what do i care
if you love me
or miss me
or need me
when you aren't doing anything about it
if i'm not the love of your life
i'll be the greatest loss instead"
